Stephen grew up in a Surrey village and worked in a bank for several years prior to ordination.  He studied theology at London Bible College and Trinity College, Bristol before serving a curacy in Knutsford, Cheshire. Then he was a Team Vicar in rural Devon, with responsibility for 4 out of 11 parishes for 10 years, before moving here to Necton with his wife Ruth, and their three children, Samuel, Jonathan and Naomi at the end of August 2006. He was instituted and inducted as Rector of the Benefice on 26 September by the Bishop of Norwich.
